What is phishing?
Phishing is a form of fraud used by cybercriminals. It involves contacting someone by email, text message or telephone and misleading them by pretending to be a trusted organisation or website. The aim is to obtain sensitive information from the recipient, enabling them to access their personal or banking details and use them fraudulently.
To do this, the fraudster may write an email that appears legitimate (logo, colors, communication style, etc.), asking the recipient to provide data by replying directly to the email or by clicking on a link, which then sends the recipient to a fraudulent page. The style of the email is deliberately alarmist in order to condition the recipient to respond.
Example of a pishing email

- the fraudster pretends to be our company, using the blue colour associated with our website
- he adds an image at the top of the email to make the recipient believe that the email is secure and a mention at the bottom of the email about a secure serve, and the IT team and Helpdesk are mentionedthe style is alarmist (red, bold, capital letters, exclamation marks, very short deadline for taking action, announced blocking of emails)
- the email contains a link to a fake page
- if we look at the sender of the email, the address is totally unrelated to our website.
Note that some messaging systems do not directly show the sender's email address, but only the contact name. Don't hesitate to click on this name to display the email address and check it.
How can I protect myself against phishing?
Here are a few tips:
- Always check the sender's email address before replying to a message, clicking on the links contained therein or opening any attachments. If in doubt, access your account directly via the Delcampe website. Always use your usual access point to log in.
- never provide confidential information by email, telephone or text message, such as your password or credit card security code. We will never ask you for this information in this way.
- If you receive an email that seems to come from your seller or your buyer and that seems suspicious, check your Delcampe inbox to see if the email has been sent through our website.

What actions does Delcampe ask you for data for?

From time to time, we may ask you to take one or more actions on your account or to provide certain data. When we do so, we avoid asking you to click on a link in the email and do not ask you to reply directly to the email. Instead, we invite you to log in to your account via your usual access point. By doing this, we want to encourage you to be vigilant, which will be very useful if you are ever the target of a phishing attempt.
