Which requirements must be met to sell in Germany?
Depending on your professional status, two conditions may apply:
- An obligation to register in the LUCID register and to provide your registration number. This condition applies to all professional sellers, whether or not they are subject to VAT.
We recommend that you read our article: "Packaging Act in Germany (LUCID register)" for more information on this subject. - An obligation to provide a VAT number. This requirement applies only to sellers who are liable for VAT. They must indicate their German VAT number (if they have one).

How to submit your LUCID registration number?
- Go to your sales conditions
- In the "Delivery zones" section, enter your LUCID registration number in the appropriate box
- Click on "Save and next" at the bottom of the page
How to submit your VAT number?
- Go to your sales conditions
- Under "Delivery zones", tick the box "I declare that I comply with the VAT legislation for the German market"
- Enter your VAT number in the box provided
- Click on "Save and next" at the bottom of the page
