Cancel my bid/my purchase

This article covers the following topics:

Cancel a bid placed on an ongoing auction

If the conditions below are met, go to "The conditions are met". Otherwise go to"At least one of the conditions has not been met".

Conditions

  • The bid was placed less than 24 hours ago
  • You are the sole bidder
  • You haven’t cancelled more than five bids in the last 30 days

The conditions are met

You can cancel the bid yourself.

  1. Go to the sales page
  2. Click on the link mceclip0.png at the top right of the page
  3. A window will open. Enter an explanation for the seller
  4. Click on “confirm cancellation of my bid”

Your bid is automatically cancelled and is no longer included in the auction. The seller is notified by email.

At least one of the conditions has not been met

You cannot cancel the bid yourself.

  1. Contact the seller through the website's messaging platform to inform them of your desire to cancel your bid. Even if your seller accepts the cancellation, the sale will continue until it is closed.
  2. There are two possibilities:
  • Case 1: Another member enters a higher bid, they become the highest bidder and the sale continues. You are no longer bound by it.

Note: If you set a bidding ceiling, consider cancelling your automatic bid.

  • Case 2: If no other bids are made, you will remain the highest bidder and be designated as the buyer when the auction closes. If the buyer accepted your cancellation request for the sale, archive it in your tracked sales.

In cases like this, it’s up to the seller to cancel the sale on the website so as not to pay commission on it. As the buyer, you cannot do this.

For your information: even if the seller accepts the cancellation, they can give you a negative feesback as the sales contract was breached. You cannot give the seller a negative feedback. This does not apply in the event of withdrawal by the bidder via the interface, since the bid was withdrawn.

Cancel your purchase for a fixed-price sale or a completed auction

In both these cases, you can no longer cancel your bid given that the sale is finalised.

  1. Contact the seller through the website's messaging platform to inform them of your desire to cancel your bid.
  2. If your seller accepts to cancel the sale, archive it in your purchase tracking.
